Gynecological Cancer Networking
2ND MONDAY OF EACH MONTH, 6:30-8 PM

In partnership with Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky, Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana offers a FREE gynecologic cancer networking group that meets the second Monday of each month. Join us to receive support, learn from others, hear from expert guest speakers, and have an opportunity to share your story. Dinner will be served at 5:45.

Early Detection and Testing for Ovarian Cancer
While no early detection tool exists for all women, several tests exist for women who are at a high risk.
If a woman has ovarian cancer symptoms, a strong family history, or a genetic predisposition such as a BRCA mutation, doctors may monitor her with one of three tests or a combination of them:
1. Blood Test
2. Transvaginal Ultrasound
3. Pelvic Exam

Support Group for Gynecological Cancer Survivors
Join us for our monthly support group meeting for gynaecological cancer survivors, where you can enjoy getting to know great friends who can relate to your circumstances in a carefree and relaxing environment. Light refreshments are provided.
Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month.

Support and Resources
Financial Assistance
Shirley’s Way – Offers financial assistance covering a wide range of needs for individuals battling cancer.
The Allyson Whitney Foundation – Provides grants to young adults (16-36) facing rare cancers. Grants can cover a wide array of needs including medical hair pieces, rent, utilities, medical bills, and more.
Good Days – Provides financial support for patients who cannot afford the treatment
Family Reach – Offers grants to families facing cancer. Grants can cover rent, utilities, transportation, and groceries.
Resource Hubs
Hope Scarves – Resource hub including organizations that provide financial assistance, transportation, post-surgery care, and culturally specific assistance.
Triage Cancer – Kentucky-specific resource hub. Includes information on disability, advocacy, fair employment, transportation, housing, and healthcare.
